Yes, I am blogging...not a dream

So most of you know already that I am getting married on 10/22/10 at Kindred Oaks. Very excited!! The wedding planning has been a lot of fun, and interesting! I have this love hate relationship with planning my wedding. I get really excited and get on the internet, write down all these great ideas, and I think I am getting somewhere...then I get overwhelmed and walk away! I have the main things done, the venue, the food, the DJ, my dress, and the most important...my Bachelorette Party is booked for Port A!!! The only other thing I need to do right away is find a great, yet affordable photographer and secure my date with him/her. All the other million details will have to wait until I am ready. ahhh, but it is going to be a BEAUTIFUL and an UNFORGETTABLE wedding!!!

COHEN: So Cohen is the cutest thing in the world right now! He will be 18 months on the 26th...times goes by way to fast!!! I miss being able to rock him to sleep. He is obsessed with playing with balls...any type. He is really good at soccer, and I know I am about to sound like a bragging mother right now...but he really is. His ball handeling skills are amazing! LOL. Then you give him a basketball and he knows just what to do with it, he tries to dribble and shoot the ball in the hoop my dad got him for Christmas. He is saying a few words, but is really becomming his own little man...it is so interesting to see how he changes from day to day. He is going to start day care on April 1st, going 3 days a week. It is going to be interesting to see how he reacts with kids around all the time...he has been with grandparents up to this point, only really seeing kids at the park and Rylynn! I will probably cry my eyes out, but ulitmetely it will be good for him!

We really do have emergency sirens....

So last night we all ended up in my middle bathroom in the bathtub...Me, Cohen, Stephanie, Kim, Lauren and the two pups Athena and Ari. (Chris was being an idoit and filming the atrocious storm)

It all started with a nice lasagna in the oven. We were having wonderful conversation about Ari's peeing issues and getting laser hair removal....you know the norm. When all of the sudden it got really dark and really cold. Kim and Steph went to the store to get some beer, because we weren't going to sit and ride out the storm without it! We were waiting for there arrival and that is when it started happening really fast. We were out front watching (for some stupid reason) then we saw circular movement in the sky....literally right over our heads. Finally, we got smart and moved inside. Upon doing so, we learned that we needed to take cover ASAP! Less than 5 minutes after our trustworthy meteorologist reported that news to us...Our Emergency Siren went off. Who the heck knew those things really existed, it was sooooooo scary! I knew things were getting bad when Kim was instructing to get into the bathroom. She is smart and I trust her opinion. So we gathered up everyone and headed in. We camped out for a while, but it was soon over.

Everything was fine, and the lasagna turned out great!!

Up to Speed

It has been a long time since I have posted a new blog, and I kind of got the heat from Kim. Just kidding, she really only mentioned it one time. I honestly forgot about my blog spot and am going to try my hardest not to neglect it anymore. Just a little quick update to get you up to speed on things. Cohen is now 7 months old and growing like a weed. He is starting to teeth...so our pediatrician says. She said his gums are inflamed, but it could take 2 weeks to 2 months. That is a really long time in between to try and figure out if in fact he is actually teething. He has had his fussy days, and you better believe I am blaming it on him "teething"! He is the best baby ever, (not that I really have another to compare with) he is happy, sleeps all night and a good eater...what else could you ask for? He is almost crawling, yes he has mastered rolling every which way, and now we are doing the rocking back in forth on all fours. I think that by the end of the week he will be crawling. He is crawling backwards, it is very funny. I don't know if I am ready for him to be mobile yet! That just takes everything to a different level. I will now have to call one of those crazy baby inspecting places where the get on hands and knees and baby proof your entire house. I am sure that is going to be a pretty penny. I will keep everyone posted when he starts to move! Hopefully I can learn how to upload a video by then.

Last month I ran the Capital 10k with a girl at my work, who forced me to do it! Not really, I had a great time. We ran the entire time, except to take pictures and to tie our shoes for the 100th time. LOL, but we finished in 1 hour and 8 minutes. Not bad. I am hoping to run a 1/2 a marathon by the end of this year.

Chris is doing wonderful. He went out on the boat twice now and already has the darkest tan ever! I am jealous, I tan...but not like him or my dad. Chris is an amazing father and it has been so much fun watching Cohen and him play. He is the only person who can make Cohen just laugh hysterically!

Random Blog

So as most of you know, it is going to be my birthday in 14 days! How excited are you? Just kidding. This year I am not preggers, so I think that I am going to eat all the raw fish I can handle and wash it down with lots of really dirty martini's! I will figure out the plans and let everyone know so they can join us.

So I was just traffic thinking yesturday (which is were you think of the most random stuff in the world) and thought that I really miss being pregnant and actually feeling Cohen inside me. So then it got me thinking of all the weird stuff that happens when you are pregnant...like, I got really bad sun spots, I could never drink enough water to actually make me not parched and I always had the need to bite my fingernails which I never did before. Those are just a few of the many things that happended to me.

Diet and exercise is really hard. I do really good during the week, but then the weekend roles around and I am back at square one. I did really bad today and went to Hula Hutt with some co-workers for one of there birthdays. I thought I was going to be good and not eat chips and creamy jalapeno dip...but it was too hard. I even ordered fish tacos, but they were covered in cream sauce. so I did bad, no excuses today.

I thought I would throw a pic of Cohen in here, because that is who you really want to see.

ClockWork

Routines are nice, it is always good to know what to expect day in and day out. We have a very good routine at our house. I wake up at 6 am go to work, run at lunch, get off at 4, go pick up Cohen, cook dinner, give Cohen a bath, feed and put Cohen down. Chris and I take turns bathing and feeding him...because I need a little me time!!! I am back at work, so this little schedule has been perfect. I hope that I don't sound too much like a prude because I like things to be done a certain way LOL. Chris really balances that issue out for me though, sometimes I will try to clean my entire house at 10 at night. Chris will grab me and force me to relax, otherwises I would just go, go, go! Being a working mom REALLY IS HARD WORK!

So back to me running at lunch: I have been running 3 days a week, and doing abs and resistance training the other two. This girl at my work named Melissa is kicking my butt! It is just what I need to get me back into shape for bikini time! I am proud to say that I have lost a total of 6 lbs so far...I am sure that a lot of it was water weight. I am having issues with my knees now and am really hoping that it goes away. I am not sure what the problem is, but I am going to suck it up and not leave room for any exuses! Unless it just doesn't go away LOL. Chris doesn't know this yet, but I think that I want to take kick boxing with Melissa during lunch twice a week. I think that is what he is going to get me for my birthday! (That is comming up very soon, so keep your calendars open for the month of February)

Baby, Halloween, Thankgiving and now Christmas...It has been a while

So, as I said before I am not too good at keeping up with this! As all of you know...we had our little precious baby Boy, Cohen Christopher Burton. He was born September 26th at 6:47 p.m, 8lbs 8oz, big boy! It was actually really funny, I was due on September 26th and scheduled to be induced as well. We woke up that morning planning on going to the hospital, but then they called me with the news that they were completely full and I was going to have to change my induction date. Apparentely Cohen wasn't having that, so he finally started to make his move. I started having contractions really fast and strong, about 4 minutes apart right away! For some reason I was worried that my doctor wouldn't believe that I was going into labor because the hospital just called with the bad news. (I don't know why I was thinking that...crazy) so she had me come in her office and right away she sent me to the hospital. We checked in the hospital around 11 a.m. and my water broke around noon. Things went pretty fast after that, I was only pushing for 20 minutes. Before we knew it we had out little miracle!! He was so beautiful, I just couldn't believe that he was mine. I am truly blessed and have a new meaning to my so called life. Chris said that I did great at not being mean or yelling at him, he said I was "in the zone"! I remember getting mad at him for the flavor of his gum, the way it smelled really bothered me. LOL. Chris, my mother, Amanda, Jenn and Chris' mother Sandy were all in the room and were all in tears at the first sight of Cohen. I think that Cohen really brought our families closer and I am very greatful for that too. He will be 3 months the day after Christmas, and it makes me sad how fast he is growing up. He is the most amazing thing in my life and I can't wait to share more with you all. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and I will see you next year.

Come on Cohen

So today I went to my 39 week doctor's appointment and still no baby. I am getting so anxious because on Monday we had a sonogram and got to see him in 4D!!! He was so stinkin cute! He looks like Chris and he is already estimated to weigh 8 lbs! So, now the hard part is just waiting to see how my story begins...will my water break, will I just have contractions or will the doctor have to induce me. There are signs that he is comming on his own, so that is good. I can't wait to meet him, I can't wait to be a mother. I already love him so much and it has brought Chris and I so close. I can't wait to see the look on Chris' face when he sees him for the first time. (I hope that he doesn't faint) So here is to Cohen's debut...whenever it may be.
